The Hateful Eight’s Demian Bichir is the latest addition to the cast of Ridley Scott’s new Alien film…
Production isn’t too far off starting on Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus, Alien: Covenant. The movie is the first of three new Prometheus/Alien movies that Scott is planning to make, and already on board the project are Danny McBride (more on his casting below), Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston.
The newest addition? That’d be Demian Bichir, last seen in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. There’s no word yet on just which character he’s going to play.
Production starts in Australia shortly…
ALIEN: COVENANT ADDS DANNY MCBRIDE
Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant is set to start filming shortly, with Ridley Scott planning to make it the first of three more movies in the series, before it joins up to 1979’s Alien.
Surprisingly, Noomi Rapace won’t be reprising her role from Prometheus, although Michael Fassbender is set to return. Katherine Waterston has already signed on the dotted line to play the lead female role.
But now we’re hearing of a surprise casting choice, as Danny McBride – best known for his comedy, particularly Eastbound & Down – is in talks for one of the lead male roles in the movie.
The exact role is unclear, but McBride is already said to be in early discussions for the movie. He’s expected to sign up shortly.
Alien: Covenant is currently scheduled for release in October 2016.
