Ant-Man, released in 2015, represented the culmination of nearly a decade of delays, directorial shake-ups and numerous script revisions. Showcasing a most unlikely of cinematic centrepieces with a version of Marvel’s Avenger team member, the payoff would be substantial, yielding a $519.3 million global gross.
Now, director Peyton Reed returns behind the camera for sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp with star Paul Rudd as the insect-size-shrinking hero, joined atop the marquee by Evangeline Lilly, who – as revealed in the first film’s mid-credits scene – will assume the role of the sequel’s co-titular Wasp in a scale-shattering team-up blockbuster.
Marvel has now announced that Ant-Man And The Wasp is officially in production, and the news comes complete with a little video, which you can see below.
