If you’ve long thought the Force was strong with Take That, then here’s the proof at long last: Gary Barlow reportedly has a cameo in this year’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The word comes from the Take That pop person himself, who dropped the news on ITV’s the Lorraine show. “I’m not a Stormtrooper,” Barlow said, “But I am in it.”
This means that Barlow will appear somewhere among such actors as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and the legendary Mark Hamill – assuming that revealing his part in The Last Jedi hasn’t earned the wrath of Disney-Lucasfilm, that is.
“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out,” Grand Moff Barlow said. “I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role.”
So if Barlow isn’t playing a Stormtrooper, what might his role be? We guess well have to try a little patience and wait until this December to find out. Whatever the part requires for the Take That singer-songwriter, we’re sure it won’t be too taxing.
