Batman v Superman

The life of a superhero isn’t all shiny glory – we get it – but the stars of Batman v Superman will still remind you of the film’s heft and darkness, at least in comparison to the pages of a comic book. “It’s just the most incredible character,” said Jesse Eisenberg of his villainous role as Lex Luthor.  “It was written by this guy Chris Terrio, this is his next movie after Argo, who is just this brilliant writer of characters,” Eisenberg said during a recent spot on The Today Show. “So this movie is not a cartoonish superhero movie, it’s this very serious, well-acted, well-written, well-directed movie. It’s really phenomenal.”. “It was written by this guy Chris Terrio, this is his next movie afterArgo, who is just this brilliant writer of characters. So this movie is not a cartoonish superhero movie, it’s this very serious, well-acted, well-written, well-directed movie. It’s really phenomenal.”

With a swirl of talk from the actors involved on Warner Bros’ DC adaptation, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is starting to sound like a fun-free affair. Just last week Jason Momoa turned around silliness aimed at his Aquaman character, telling fans the joke would be on them.

The spirit of Eisenberg’s comments are all positive, as you’d expect, yet there’s an underlying sense that the studio is pushing to separate itself from Marvel’s lighter, comedic take on superheroes. Whether or not that’s a good thing will shake out with the film’s March 25, 2016 release date.
