Bond 24

Spectre logo - title of the 24th James Bond movie

At last we know.  The title of Bond 24 was revealed live at Pinewood today, and it is:

Spectre.

Returning director Sam Mendes took to the world famous 007 stage to reveal the name and to tease that anyone with a knowledge of James Bond and the Ian Fleming novels might have an idea to what ‘Spectre’ might refer.

John Logan, Neal Purvis & Robert Purvis – the Skyfall team – are once again on writing duties and new talent joining the crew are cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema (Let The Right One In, Interstellar) and editor Lee Smith (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, The Truman Show).

Besides Daniel Craig, 007 himself, returning cast members will include Ralph Fiennes, who took over from Judi Dench as M at the end of the last film, and Ben Wishaw as Q.  Joining them at Whitehall is Denbigh, played by Sherlock’s Andrew Scott.

Other new cast members include:

David Bautista as Mr Hinx

Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra

Lea Seydoux as Madeline Swann

Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser

And a very special non-human addition to the cast:

The Aston Martin DB10

Spectre begins it’s seven month shoot this Monday, 8th December, and will arrive in cinemas 6th November 2015.  Locations include Pinewood (of course), Tangiers, The Alps & Mexico City.

And, as an added bonus, here’s the first logline for the film:

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
