Casting Update: ‘Rush’ Star Daniel Bruhl To Join The ‘Civil War’ Cast As A Villain.

Report by Sarah Jayne Alexander.

Marvel Studios have announced that the Rush actor will join his co-star Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Universe in the Phase 3 Captain America film Civil War slated at the Marvel Event for a 2016 release.

They confirmed he will be playing a villainous role alongside existing cast members Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. It was confirmed earlier this year that Iron Man will have a significant role in the phase 3 Captain America film and during the Live Marvel Event in October Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, announced that Chadwick Boseman will also have a lead role as Black Panther.

It’s unclear which villain Bruhl will star as but it is likely that he is not the main antagonist of Civil War and that his character is set for bigger and more evil shenanigans in another forth coming Marvel film Doctor Strange which reportedly say may also star Sherlock superstar and national treasure, Benedict Cumberbatch.

“It’s a BIG storyline” Feige recently said of the Civil War “this is the Civil War of the cinematic universe inspired by the Civil War that’s featured in all of the other films, particularly Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Avengers: Age of Ultron“ (released in 2015)

We will keep you updated as the Captain America: Civil War storyline unfolds.

Captain America: Civil War is dated for release on May 6th 2016.
