Thor star Chris Hemsworth has opened up about his relationship with wife Elsa Pataky, admitting watching her become a mother made him fall more in love with her.
The Australian hunk married Elsa in 2010, after dating for less than a year. Over the past five years they’ve welcomed daughter India and twin sons Tristan and Sasha and Chris couldn’t be happier with his family unit.
“Watching her be a mother made me fall even more in love with her,” he beamed to Who magazine. “Once we had kids we were like, ‘We’re in it, this is it.'”
While women and men all over the world may have fallen for Chris’ laidback charm, he’s only ever had eyes for Spanish actress Elsa. Having children only further cemented his devotion.
“All of a sudden I had a greater appreciation for my wife, she kind of came into her own when we had kids,” he smiled. “She certainly keeps me sane. I complain about things, she gets on with it.”
In 2014 People magazine crowned the 32-year-old its Sexiest Man Alive, and while it earned him a certain degree of privilege at home, Elsa soon put him in his place.
“Well, it got me bragging rights at my house for 24 hours and then my wife put me back to work. She thinks it’s as funny as I do,” he previously told Britain’s Hello! magazine.
Aside from gushing about Elsa, Chris is flat out with work. Whaling flick In the Heart of the Sea hits cinemas in December (15), while The Huntsman and Ghostbusters will be out in 2016. He’ll also be picking up Thor’s hammer again for his solo Marvel outing Ragnarok.
Currently there are no further Avengers flicks in the pipeline, but the film franchise has made headlines with the news Scarlett Johansson, who plays Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, earns roughly the same as her co-stars Chris and Chris Evans (Captain America). Variety published the story, as the row for equal pay in Hollywood rages on.
