Chronicles Of Narnia reboot

The Silver Chair is the next Narnia movie heading to the big screen – and it’s going to reboot the series…

A third studio is set to take a crack at bringing C S Lewis’ The Chronicles Of Narnia to the screen. In association with Walden Media, it was Disney that backed The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (which hit big) and Prince Caspian (that didn’t hit quite as big). Then, 20th Century Fox partnered on The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, and that didn’t do the necessary business at the box office.

Plans remain afoot – as they have for some time – to bring The Silver Chair to the big screen, though. And in this case, it’s proven an opportunity for a franchise reboot.

Sony is now backing The Chronicles Of Narnia series, along with Entertainment One. Mark Gordon is producing, along with Douglas Gresham (C S Lewis’ stepson), Vincent Sieber and Melvin Adams. Furthermore, David Magee will continue to pen the script for The Silver Chair.

It’s going to be a whole new cast this time though, and a new director will be jumping aboard too. The identities of those new recruits has not yet been determined, however…
