Production finally gets underway in earnest this summer of the four planned Avatar sequels that James Cameron is making. The first isn’t now due in cinemas until the end of 2020, and it will bring back a bunch of characters from the first movie.
It’s also, though, going to introduce a new lead character by the name of Tonowari. And reportedly, this character will appear in all four new Avatar films. Tonowari is set to be the leader of an underwater tribe known as the Metkayina. How friendly he and this tribe are remains to be seen.
We do know, though, who’s going to playing him. The role has gone to Cliff Curtis, best known to date for his work in Fear The Walking Dead. Where he fits in too with returnees Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana remains to be seen.
