Not a huge surprise this, but Warner Bros – through its New Line Cinema arm – has ordered another film in The Conjuring series. This one is going by the title of The Conjuring 3 for the time being. Expect that to change by the time the movie is released.
The script this time is going to be penned by Davie Leslie Johnson, who penned Orphan and Wrath Of The Titans, and has recently been working on Aquaman. James Wan and Peter Safran are set to produce.
There is going to be a slight change behind the camera this time, though. James Wan, who has directed the two films in the series to date, is not likely to helm this one. He’s currently shooting Aquaman for Warner Bros, and that’s going to eat up his next year or so.
The focus will still be on real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, as played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Famiga.
No release date has been confirmed, but two The Conjuring spin-offs are arriving this year, in the shape of The Nun and Annabelle: Creation.
More on The Conjuring 3 as we get it.
