Cowboy Ninja Viking

Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Chris Pratt Confirmed For Lead In ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’.

Actor Chris Pratt

Since starring in one of the largest grossing films ever made, Chris Pratt has made the gigantic leap from TV comedic actor to feature film super star like a duck to water. Guardians of the Galaxy became a success earlier this year taking in a whopping $770 million (to date) launching Chris Pratt into the A-List stratosphere and putting him on the most wanted list attracting every studio from Marvel to Universal. His next leading role as Owen – Jurassic World’s behavioural researcher of the Raptor variety – will hit UK cinemas in June 2015 and is set to be one of the biggest hits of the year.

A Cowboy Ninja Viking adaptation (created by A.J Lieberman and Riley Rossmo) has been under consideration for quite a few years now and after Disney side-lined the project as ‘too edgy’ for them, Universal swooped in and snapped it up instead. Back then, Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) was said to be signed up to direct but he is no longer involved with the project and there is no replacement as yet. Chris Pratt has more than demonstrated that he can carry a large successful franchise and pull off the much needed balance of comedy with seriousness and earlier confirmed via his official twitter account that he will be involved.

The hero of the graphic novel, Duncan, is a result of a counter-intelligence program made up of Multiple Personality Disorder patients who are transformed into agents known as Triplets known for their multiple personalities. Subsequently, Duncan goes rouge and heads out using his skills to track down the billionaire who created the program. At the moment, it is reported that the 3 varied personalities may be visualised as 3 different people –The Cowboy, The Ninja and The Viking – and Pratt only playing the character of Duncan, who remains the face everyone around him sees despite flicking between personalities.

There is monumental task ahead for whoever Universal bring on board to write the script but with such a high flying lead now 100% attached, it won’t be long before Cowboy Ninja Viking is announcing it is in pre-production!
