David Walliams, one of Britain’s most popular writers and comic actors, will make his film awards hosting debut before an audience of star guests from the world of film and entertainment at the Jameson Empire Awards 2016.
The co-creator of the multi-award winning ‘Little Britain’, has proved himself as a dramatic actor with roles in high profile BBC series (‘Capturing Mary’, ‘Rather You Than Me’) and on the West End stage (‘No Man’s Land’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’). Walliams’ film credits also include: The Look of Love, directed by Michael Winterbottom; Mike Newell’s Great Expectations; and, Stardust directed by Matthew Vaughn. As well as being an internationally best-selling children’s author, Walliams is currently writing a screenplay for DreamWorks Animation with director Edgar Wright. Upon hosting the Jameson Empire Awards 2016, Walliams comments:

Set to be the biggest yet with the introduction of 11 new categories spanning film, television and gaming, the Jameson Empire Awards will take place on Sunday March 20. As ever, the 21st annual awards will be voted for by the people, with film and entertainment fans across the world invited to cast their votes, making the Jameson Empire Awards a unique event ranking alongside other major awards ceremonies and falling hard on the heels of the OSCARS® and BAFTAs.
The final nominations for the Jameson Empire Awards will be announced February 18 upon which the public will vote across all categories at www.empireonline.com/awards2016.
