New writers board Edge Of Tomorrow 2, with Doug Liman set to direct the Tom Cruise-headlined sequel.
Plans for a sequel to the excellent Edge Of Tomorrow have advanced, it seems, with the news that Doug Liman is returning to direct the follow-up.
A pair of new writers have signed up for the movie, and they are Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. The duo have penned the upcoming Jesse Owens biopic Race, which is due in UK cinemas this June. The pair have also been recently rewritten The Gray Man adaption, that Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct (possibly once he’s done with Mission: Impossible 6).
There’s no word yet on when to expect Edge Of Tomorrow 2, but with Doug Liman filming Gambit at the end of the year, it’s going to have to wait until he’s done with that for a start. A late 2017 production start is possible.
