10 years after the first High School Musical made stars of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, High School Musical 4 is happening…
The Disney Channel is set to resurrect the High School Musical series of films, as it looks to cast a fourth movie.
The first two High School Musical films – that helped make stars out of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens – debuted on TV in the US, with the third getting a cinema release. The last of the movies, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, was released back in 2008, but now the search is on for the cast of High School Musical 4.
This is a Disney Channel project, so it’s fair to assume this one will debut on TV as well. It’ll tell the story of the new generation of East High Wildcats, as they do battle with their rivals, the West High Knights.
Disney is planning to hold open auditions in the spring to see who the new Zac and Vanessa are going to be. It’s doubtful any of the original stars will return.
Jeffrey Hornaday, who previously helmed Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, is the man charged with directing High School Musical 4.
