There are no tickets left for event I'm trying to book for - is there a Wait List?
We are always working on updating our site and a wait list is on the development schedule, but unfortunately we do not have anything in place at present.
However, if someone cancels (usually close to the event date when we send out reminders) the cancelled tickets are made available again, so it's worth checking for returns.
I can't find my tickets
Go to login/edit details at www.showfilmfirst.com and go to view my tickets to reprint at your convenience. Alternatively there will get another opportunity to print the tickets when you receive the confirmation email the day before the screening.
Received an invite and can’t find the code?
if you are sent an invite to an event, you will not always receive a separate ‘code’. The invitation may contain a link, which will look like either this:
If the link isn't clickable, simply copy the link and paste into your browser.
As always, you'll need to be quick, as tickets go fast!
I haven't heard from you for some time
Firstly, please edit your details to ensure they are up to date. If you have entered the wrong email address or post code for example, you will not be receiving emails from us!
Please add email@example.com to your "safe senders list" in your email program to prevent our messages from going to your "junk" mail folder.
If you are not receiving messages from us, please check your Bulk Mail folder just in case they have been devlivered there. If so, select the confirmation message and select 'Not Spam'. Do not forget to click the link in the confirmation message. Otherwise, you will not receive any of our future emails.
If you are not receiving emails from us, please check your Spam folder just in case they have been delivered there. If yes then select the confirmation message and click 'Not Spam'. Do not forget to click the link in the confirmation message, or you will not receive any of our future emails.
If you are not receiving messages from us, please check your Junk E-mail folder just in case they have been delivered there. If so, select the confirmation message and click 'Not Junk', which will allow future emails to get through.
We recommend that you do the following to avoid accidentally filtering our future messages:
1. Click the cog next to your log in name at the top right
2. Select 'More email settings'
3. Click 'Safe and blocked senders'
3. Click 'Safe Senders'
4. Enter firstname.lastname@example.org
5. Click 'Add to list > >'

Outlook 2003 Users:

What type of identification do I need?
You won't always be asked for ID, but occasionally, cinemas need to check that tickets aren't being misused. A driving licence, credit card or utility bill will be fine.
I would like to change the name on my tickets
Showfilmfirst tickets are never sold and are non-transferable.
Why are the cinemas half full when on application for tickets they are all gone?
Actually we do share your frustration and if we could think of a way to ensure people turned up, we would be very happy! Unfortunately people do apply for tickets but don't always use them. To try and avoid this problem, we would really appreciate that you only apply for tickets when you can actually use them. If you cannot make a screening simply cancel by following the link at the bottom of the ticket confirmation email. This releases the ticket for another member.
I am interested in joining ShowFilmFirst – can you tell me the cost?
Membership of ShowFilmFirst is free of charge.
Why is this film not showing in my area?
It is the film company's decision as to where special previews are held and beyond our control. Usually films will be previewed in areas where the film will be playing once it has opened.
Why do people post codes on the Internet?
This is really unfair and we (and most of the database) struggle to understand why people do this. You post the code anonymously, and stop other people getting tickets, for the sake of giving them to strangers who won't even thank you?! If we do trace people doing this we will take them off the database, and we appreciate help from other members in tracking down these people – it's pointless, and stops you getting tickets! However, you will usually find that by the time third parties get a code and put it on the internet, all tickets have been allocated to our members!
I've seen codes online that you did not send me?
Sometimes we have a specific brief on who tickets should go to which may be based on age, gender, location and films previously seen. Other times we may simply just have a few tickets and have to randomly pick a corresponding number of people.
How can I change my details?

What is EAS?
EAS is our Early Alerts Service which gives members the opportunity to get email information before it goes to the whole database. For those living in cities, this often includes shows and other events, not just film. Full details are in this link: www.showfilmfirst.com/EAS.php. If you are interested, please read the information which clearly sets out the offer and the terms and conditions. Places are limited and we hold a waiting list if you area is full. Please note regarding PayPal - sign ups are automatically for a renewal, every year for 5 years. You can however cancel your subscription at any time.
How do you know my preference?
Currently preferences are defined by films you have chosen to see. As your membership develops we will send you invites which will help profile your interests - For example if we have been asked to target women between 25 and 40 for a chick flick and you are offered and take tickets to this, you are likely to get offered more of this genre. We will at a later stage be asking our key members to profile their account so that we have more information on your preferences and can work with you on more detailed film information
We can only offer each membership targeting around their postcode. However, if we have something say in London or another key city, we do offer to a wide (usually 70km) audience - wherever is a reasonable travelling distance. However, if we only have a few, say in Central London with short notice, we will only offer to those that could reasonably be able to travel that far in time.
Why does PayPal say 5 years?
PayPal: 5 Year Subscription. PayPal sign ups are automatically set up for a renewal, every year for 5 years. You can however cancel your subscription at any time.

My membership does not say VIP anymore?
We have changed the system and membership status does not show on account info as we are changing from VIP to EAS (Early Alerts Service).

What is VIP Text Service?
Early Alerts Text service gives members the opportunity to get text information before it goes to the whole database. For those living in cities, this often includes shows and other events, not just film.
How it Works
If you would like to subscribe to Early Alerts texts you simply text VIP, followed by a space and your postcode to 84010.
Eg: VIP SS0 8JJ
This will cost your standard network rate and £1:50 per Early Alerts text (see full pricing details below). You will never receive more than TWO texts per week, and you can 'unsubscribe' at anytime, (simply send the word 'STOP' to 84010) and you will still remain on our email database.
You will be billed your standard message network rate when you sign up. Each Early Alerts text will cost you £1.50. But remember, going to the cinema is more than £5 per ticket (and you get two with Showfilmfirst), and these are all previews – that is you see them before they are released! This is a subscription service and you will receive a maximum of 2 messages per week, totaling a maximum of £3. Text STOP to 84010 at any time to opt-out.
To subscribe to the ShowFilmFirst Early Alerts service send the word 'VIP' followed by a space and your Post Code to 84010. You will receive a maximum of 2 messages per week depending upon your location and film availability. Texts will be sent at least 24 hours before film is showing. Each text costs £1.50.
