JJ Abrams to adapt Dream Jumper

Greg Grunberg’s upcoming graphic novel is already headed to film courtesy of JJ Abrams…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams will produce the movie adaptation of Greg Grunberg’s graphic novel Dream Jumper under his Bad Robot banner.

Dream Jumper was written by Gunberg and illustrated by Lucas Turnbloom. The book centers on a boy who can jump into his friends’ nightmares to rescue them from a monster that won’t let them wake up. Dream Jumper was announced at SDCC 2015, and will come out through Scholastic’s Graphix line on June 28. Abrams wrote the foreword for the book.

Grunberg is a childhood friend of the director and acted in Abrams’ productions Felicity, Alias, Lost, Mission: Impossible III and Star Trek, and recently appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There’s no writer attached to the Dream Jumper film right now, but we’ll bring you more on the project as we get it.
