Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt could take the lead in upcoming Universal Pictures thriller In Sight.
Deadline reports Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the psychological drama, with Joseph a hot favourite to star.
The script will be written by Katie Lovejoy, who also worked on The Selection for Warner Bros.
At the moment no further details about the project are know.
For now, Joseph can be seen in The Walk, a look at high-wire artist Philippe Petit that’s not for the faint of heart. It’s likely to get viewers’ palms sweating as they watch Philippe put his dream of walking between the two towers of the World Trade Center into practice.
“That first moment, when you’re like: ‘I’ve done all this, it’s come to it, there’s the wire now, it’s time to actually take my first step, to actually do it…'” Joseph marvelled to Hollywood Streams on YouTube. “That moment you’re like: ‘This is it…’ Just that idea is so inspiring to me.”
Joseph was trained by Philippe himself for the role, eventually managing to walk a tightrope ten feet off the ground.
“He’s such an optimist, Philippe,” Joseph told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s such a positive thinker, and when someone believes that you can do something, then you yourself believe you can do it, and that’s when you can actually do it, when you believe in yourself.”
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, it’s already had rave reviews from critics and started rolling out in cinemas on Thursday (01Oct15).
“This was just so fascinating. I loved the idea that there’s a guy who does this amazing performance art… this anarchistic performance art… illegal and dangerous, but it doesn’t hurt anybody…” Robert said.
Co-starring is Charlotte Le Bon, who added: “It’s about a journey, Philippe’s journey and Philippe’s dream to walk between those two amazing monsters.”
