What better time to release a trailer for one of the most anticipated and exciting cinematic releases of 2015? During the American NFL SuperBowl of course! Using the prime time slot on Sunday night when more than 111.5 MILLION viewers where tuned in to watch the New England Patriots take on the Seahawks, the second international trailer for Jurassic World was unleashed and, in our opinion, built up the hype for the fourth installment due in April in immeasurable quantities.

The first trailer gave us a brief look at the fully functioning park-originally depicted as John Hammond’s pre-historic theme park in Jurassic Park 1. The film is set 20 years after the original and now has a steady flow of visitors from all over the world (around 20,000) and a host of new species being added on a regular basis. Isla Nublar located off the Costa Rica is now owned by a new corporation known as ‘Masrani Global Corp’ with park keeper Owen (Chris Pratt) acting as researcher and supervisor of the unruly and super intelligent Velociraptors. Watch the new trailer below and check out his impressive raptor-wrangling skills:

Judging by the newly released footage, it’s safe to say things are still not as calm and controlled as John Hammond envisioned with all kinds of hell breaking loose, raptors on the run and a new genetically modified carnivorous guest not settling into its new surroundings, the park is once again more nightmare than dream-fulfilled. OH DEAR.

According to sources, the new trailer has improved CGI 100 fold since the first footage was released a few months ago in November 2014. There is still over 2 months to go until Jurassic World hits cinemas so we can expect this to see this cleaned up ever more and we imagine, increased to almost every scene. We here at SFF are especially excited to see the introduction of swooping Pterodactyls.

Directed by Colin Trevorrow and produced by Steven Spielberg, Jurassic World also stars- Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan.

What are your thoughts on the new footage? Are you looking forward to Jurassic World being released or are you not fussed? Let us know in your comments and tweets!

Jurassic World opens in the US and UK on April 12th 2015 via Universal Pictures.
