Nine month delay hits the follow-up to The LEGO Movie…
With The LEGO Batman Movie arriving in cinemas early in 2017, it’s not like we’re going to be short of LEGO on the big screen in the near future. Yet the full sequel to the delightful The LEGO Movie has just encountered a fairly sizeable delay.
The new film, which is being directed this time by Rob Schrab, has been shifted by Warner Bros from a May 18th 2018 release date to February 8th 2019. There’s no reason given for the nine month delay, although with Warner Bros building a universe of LEGO films, it may be that the planned Ninjago movie will slide into 2018 instead.
The LEGO Movie 2 is being penned by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Michelle Morgan and Jared Stern, although plot details right now are being kept under wraps.
