Thousands of fans across the UK turned out to celebrate the musical phenomenon of LES MISÉRABLES with National ‘Sing Your Day’ as the box-office sensation was released on Blu-ray and DVD. National ‘Sing Your Day’ offered fans the chance to celebrate songs from the film as 2,500 people participated in creating a new world record for the ‘First Official Mass Participation Performance of a Song from Les Misérables’ which will now be submitted to Guinness World Records.

People throughout the country took up the opportunity to stop what they were doing at 1pm, wherever they were, to ‘Sing Their Day’; fans filmed or photographed themselves singing in an effort to make even the most mundane daily tasks more musical! LES MISÉRABLES singing flash mobs took place in many major cities, ensuring that no fan missed out on their opportunity to take part. London, Manchester, Sheffield, York, Cardiff, Bristol and Liverpool were just a few of the cities who took part in the exciting musical initiative, with HMV stores hosting 16 flash mobs.

Thousands of fans of Les Misérables descended on London’s St. Pancras International train station at 1pm to take part in a spectacular rendition of ‘Do You Hear the People Sing?’ This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for LES MISÉRABLES fans to sing alongside top selling classical artist Laura Wright  who led the flash mob.

Groups and individuals all around the country are uploading their singing efforts onto the official Facebook page for LES MISÉRABLES to share across a network of hundreds of thousands, and tweeted their efforts using hashtags #singyourday and #LesMis.

Les Misérables buskers took centre stage on the London Underground and Tyne & Wear Metro as performers celebrated National ‘Sing Your Day’ by singing a selection of the beloved songs from the hugely popular film to entertain travelers and commuters.
