There’s a lot happening in the world of DC’s Aquaman this month. First, we heard that the movie had been pushed back a few months to October 2018, and then news broke that Patrick Wilson would be taking on villain duties as Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother (a.k.a. the Ocean Master) in the film.
Patrick Wilson is a very obvious, but not unwelcome, choice for Aquaman director James Wan to make in the casting process. The two men have worked together on four movies so far – Insidious 1 and 2 and The Conjuring 1 and 2 – that all made huge piles of cash. Aquaman will be their fifth project, and it’s fair to say that Wilson is more than a little excited about this one:
“What’s gonna be interesting is there hasn’t been the technology to back up the storytelling, I guess, for Aquaman…until now. And for me, of course, I’m completely biased with James Wan, who I’ve done four films with – knowing that he’s at the helm and knowing what he can do and what he will do, I’ll do anything with him,” Wilson admitted to WBT. “I think the lure of Aquaman [is] because he hasn’t been overexposed on screen, and I don’t know Jason – I can’t wait to meet him. I was a huge fan even from the first episode of Game Of Thrones, so I’m in – I’m in with him, and he’s gonna be fantastic.”
