On the heels of her Saturday Night Live hosting stint (and ahead of her sure-to-be-Oscar-nominated turn in Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables), Anne Hathaway is laying claim to yet another coveted role in a pending big-budget tentpole – Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse. Yet here’s the thing: The movie hasn’t been greenlit, and even Hathaway is hesitant to confirm that the film will actually happen.

“If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it,” Hathaway told Empire, “and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.”

We reported on this a while back, citing at the time that Hathaway and Thorhunk Chris Hemsworth were being considered for parts in Spielberg’s planned adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson’s novel about mankind’s battle against our robotic technology, which one day wakes up and realizes it wants to kill us.
