A sequel to time-loop thriller Source Code is apparently moving forward, with a new director officially lined up to replace original helmer Duncan Jones.
According to Variety, Outlander’s Anna Foerster is set to take over the director’s chair, having recently worked as cinematographer on a number of Roland Emmerich projects.
The report also reveals that original screenwriter Ben Ripley is back on board to pen the script, although nothing has been divulged in the way of plot details.
The first film starred Jake Gyllenhaal as a man trapped in a time loop, attempting to thwart the explosion of a bomb on a packed commuter train, and dying many times over in the process.
No word as yet regarding whether Jones will have any involvement in the project, or indeed, whether any of the original cast will return. Watch this space.
