Top 10 Espionage Films – 21st Century Spy Thrillers

By Rayvenn Shaleigha D’Clark

You may or may not have noticed but the current film industry is loving everything related to ‘espionage’ (of or relating to spies for political intelligence) and here at ShowFilmFirst we are going to give you a run down of some of our favourite already and soon-to-be-released espionage related films,

1. Kingsman: The Secret Service – Matthew Vaughn, January 2015 (released)

Starring: Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Michael Caine, Jack Davenport, Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson

The first of the spy related spate of films to be released this year, Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service is a thrill ride of a movie that follows the recruitment of a council estate youth Eggsy (Taron Egerton) whose father secretly worked for the spy organization, and the concurrent attempt to induce a worldwide killing spree by the treacherous Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson). Treading on similar territory to the style of out-and-out wacky filmmaking style seen in his 2010 Action/Comedy Kick-Ass, the nation loves this purely aesthetic film, as so do we!
