Trailer: Blade Runner 2049

There’s still a good couple of months to go before the release of Blade Runner 2049, the belated sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic.

While we’ll have to wait and see hwo it expands on the original film’s bleak sci-fi universe, one thing’s safe to say at this point: the marriage of director Denis Villeneueve and cinematographer Roger Deakins has created some bewitching imagery.

The movie is starring Ryan Gosling and the returning Harrison Ford. Although just how much Harrison Ford we’re going to get is a decent question right now.

For in a new interview with Fandango, Gosling has revealed that Ford really wasn’t around for too long.

“I can say that we shot for many months before Harrison arrived, and obviously there was a lot of anticipation as to when he would show up and how that would be, and it was just a relief”, he said. “The second he got to set, he just rolled up his sleeves and we all just got to work. It was a real great pleasure to get to work with him”.

All well and good, but if Ford didn’t arrive until months into shooting, then it’s a fair bet that Rick Deckard isn’t going to be eating up that much screen time in Blade Runner 2049.
