Over the coming week or two, Warner Bros’ promotional campaign for Wonder Woman is being ramped up, ahead of the film’s release on June 1st.
In fact, a premiere took place for the movie in Shanghai just the other day, and a quick word with Zack Snyder on the red carpet has confirmed that Wonder Woman 2 will be happening at Warner Bros.
Snyder, who produces the new Wonder Woman film and helped come up with the story for it, revealed the sequel plans briefly, although there’s no detail to back them up yet. Meanwhile, producer Deborah Snyder is also reported to have said that Warner Bros’ next female-driven superhero movie will be Batgirl, that Joss Whedon is directing. If that’s the case, then Batgirl has jumped ahead of Gotham City Sirens – the Suicide Squad spin-off of sorts, where Harley Quinn leads a bunch of female DC villains – in the queue of DC movies.
More on all of this as we hear it. There’s still quite a lot of dates to fix in the DC extended universe, and once Wonder Woman is released into the world, we suspect we’ll start hearing further announcements….
