Disney is working on a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph, confirms John C Reilly…
Ah, this is happy news. We’re sizeable fans of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph, that was directed by Rich Moore (Zootropolis) and saw John C Reilly voicing the title character. Ralph was an 80s videogame character struggling in the modern world, and since the first film hit big, there’s been constant chatter of a potential sequel.
Yet whilst the subsequent Frozen 2 was quickly confirmed from the normally sequel-averse studio, Wreck-It Ralph 2 has remained just a rumour.
But John C Reilly has just confirmed it. Talking to Collider, he was asked about Wreck-It Ralph and instantly revealed that “well, we’re making another one”.
He added that “we’re working on it”, but that “[animated features] take a long time to make”.
There’s been no official announcement as of yet, but given that Rich Moore is all but done with his Zootroprolis co-directing duties, we wonder if Wreck-It Ralph 2 will now become his next project.
